Waiting To Be Happy

waiting to be happy

We spend our whole lives working, waiting for that perfect time to travel, to quit the job we don't like, to move from a place that we don't feel like home anymore, to be happy.. But should happiness wait that long? It took me many years to learn to find happiness within and I'm still in that journey to find and to follow, mindfully and every day, what makes me happy.
Today I know that I am enough, that I don't need anything external to make me happy. And I've also learned that to know that you are unique, that you are the power, that you are enough is a huge empowering feeling. And it's actually halfway to happiness. So what's the other half?

Have you gone through life waiting? Waiting for happiness to hit you in the face and to burst into your heart? Waiting for that person to come along, waiting for the perfect house, waiting to lose weight, waiting for that wonderful trip, because surely, with all this you'll be happy. Stop! Don't wait. Give up waiting and look within. Look within yourself and see all the good thins you have, the amazing being you are. Find happiness in your every day, show gratitude for what you have in your life right now, give to others, live consciously, raise your vibration and invite happiness in. Don't waste your energy waiting, because what you're waiting for may never come.

I learned to find happiness within, and I can actually find it every day, but following it and take it to the next level is more difficult. Lately, I've found myself in a position I don't like, and it's happening all the time, too often. It is not only related to my work, which no longer motivates me, but also to the fact that I have set goals that are not in accordance with who I am. At the moment, everything is a mess and what seems to motivate others, is not working for me. So I have all these questions in my head - should I wait for better days? Should I go with the flow? Should I follow my heart? Should I deal with this for a little longer and make some of my dreams come true? I can leave now and go to a new reality or wait a little longer and follow the plan. And this is the hardest part - knowing what to do and making a decision.

In the meantime, I can never forget to be myself. So if you're going through something similar, believe me, to be yourself is the most important thing! Don't let sadness take your place,  don't let expectations not be reached, don't let the goals of society replace your own dreams! Do not let anyone replace your own life. And like Fernando Pessoa once said:

To be great, be whole;
Exclude nothing, exaggerate nothing that is not you.
Be whole in everything. Put all you are
Into the smallest thing you do.
So, in each lake, the moon shines with splendor
Because it blooms up above.
