How To Detox - For A Lifetime Lasting Health
With the end of the year approaching (and the Christmas season bringing lots of calories), we all feel the need to detoxify and eliminate those things that no longer feel right in our lives. I'm not just referring to a diet, I'm also talking about our identity - the self - because there are always things that we want to change or even let go (past events, experiences, judgments, behaviours...) and new things that we feel we need to improve. This is the perfect time to embrace new challenges and to put ourselves on our highest vibration!

ELIMINATE TOXIC FOODS FROM YOUR DIET
We are what we eat and nobody wants to be toxic! We should avoid food that contain high levels of cholesterol, saturated fat, additives and coloring agents. Meat, Dairy and Fish are three of the most toxic foods you can eat - they contain animal protein, saturated fat, hormones and, in some cases, carcinogenic compounds, which are formed during cooking. Eating meat puts you at a greater risk for food poisoning, bacteria, high levels of cholesterol, heart diseases, and others.
I don't really see meat and fish as foods. I see them as dead bodies, once alive and happy, that humans kill to satisfy their appetite. So, animals are definitely on my top list of toxic foods. Why would you kill/eat another one if you want to be healthy and happy?
ADOPT A PLANT BASED DIET
If you want to detoxify and cleanse deeply, a diet based on natural and whole foods is the best option. It improves digestion, increases energy, better sleep, and physical functioning in general (health, vitality, mental health). It also can help with emotional states - depression, anxiety...
A plant based diet is the only one that has been proven to prevent, treat and reverse diseases like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Look for meat alternatives, such as tempeh, tofu and soya. It is not only healthy for yourself but it is also good for the planet.
ELIMINATE TOXIC BEAUTY
Our skin is our biggest organ and what we put on our skin ends up in our body/bloodstream. There are lots of natural alternatives that are less toxic and when you introduce them in your lifestyle, the results are amazing! You should not only stop using toxic products on your body, but also in your own house (cleaning products). So, what should you avoid?
- Parabens: they mimic the hormone estrogen and are linked to cancer, reproductive toxicity, immunotoxicity, neurotoxicity and skin irritation.
- Mineral oil: this is a crude oil derived from the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline, it is a known human carcinogen, and it also causes skin problems.
- Fragrance: common synthetic fragrances or perfumes contain hormone disrupters, which have been linked to an increased risk of breast cancer and reproductive problems.
- Aluminium zirconium: this heavy metal is linked to the development of Alzheimer’s disease and has been found in breast cancer tumors. It is also a respiratory, neurological, and developmental toxin.
- Others like formaldehyde, propylene glycol, talc, BHA & BHT, etc...

We are what we believe we are. It is important not only to control what goes in our body, but also what goes on our mind.
We absorb everything around us, we transfer and receive energy from everyone, and it happens even when we are not thinking about it - just like breathing! Identify what thoughts are good for you and get rid of the ones that only bring you negativity. In the same way, evaluate the people around you, decide who is important in your life, who inspires you and those you love and want to keep close. Avoid people that don't try to understand you, don't support you or those who always give you bad vibes.
